The amount of weight you can lose varies individually. Clinical studies involving 1,961 adults with obesity or overweight issues coupled with an associated health condition showed that those on Semaglutide lost an average of 35 pounds, or 15% of their body weight. In contrast, those taking a placebo lost an average of 6 pounds, equating to about 2.5% of their body weight. To maximize and sustain weight loss, it’s crucial to complement medication with a balanced diet and regular physical activity.

Everyone’s reaction to the medication is different. However, commonly experienced gastrointestinal side effects include nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. Generally, these effects are mild and tend to diminish over time. Customized dosage adjustments can help in managing these symptoms. In rare instances, severe reactions like angioedema and anaphylaxis have been reported.

Semaglutide is given as a weekly subcutaneous injection, which can be administered in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. You can choose any time of day, on the same day each week, to administer the injection, irrespective of meals.

If you forget a dose, or need to alter the day you take it, you may do so as long as your last dose was administered more than 48 hours ago.

Insurance policies typically do not cover this specific treatment. However, we recommend reaching out to your insurance provider for clarity. We also offer forms for you to submit for potential reimbursement.

Aside from weight loss, Semaglutide can also contribute to lowering risks associated with cardiovascular and kidney diseases.

Taking Semaglutide is not advisable if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of pancreatitis, medullary thyroid cancer, or multiple endocrine neoplasia types 2A or 2B. Our doctor will discuss other possible reasons why this medication may not be suitable for you.
